Hmm,
just have purchased the 3.0 upgrade and wanted to test it on 2015.3 and got this message and plugin won't load...
Octane standalone runs just fine. I'm on Win 10 pro (obviously VS2015 package is already installed).
Any ideas ???

Hi,

Please, check if you have any Octane.dll/Octane.dat files from an older Octane version in your LightWave/bin folder. In Octane 3.0 you don't need to copy any file to the LightWave/bin folder. All the Octane core files are included in the same plugin .p folder and you don't need to move them, but you must be sure that in your LightWave/bin there are no older Octane.dll/.dat files.

indeed,
got rid of the octane 2 plugins in the bin folder and now v3 loads smoothly
