Octane C4D Crash

Hi there,

I wonder if you can help me? My C4d has been crashing all afternoon, and it happens whenever I open up the Octane Live Viewer and send the scene. I've tried recreating the scene separately but it doesn't seem to help. Up until now Octane has worked well on my machine, but for the past four hours has crashed every time I've tried to use it. I have tried restarting the machine and software to no avail.

Here are my specs:

* Windows 10 Pro, Version 1703, OS Build 15063.674
* 2 x Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
* 32GB Installed RAM
* Nvidia driver 22.21.13.8253
* Octane Render standalone version 3.06.2
* Octane Render for Cinema 4D 3.06.2
* Host application: Cinema 4D R18.057

The scene itself is not heavy at all; it has a low poly 3d model, environment, lighting and a camera...

Any help you can offer would be very much appreciated!

Thanks so much
Claire

Could you try with a octane sky?

Hi Ahmet,

Thanks so much for the quick reply, I really appreciate it.

I am using an Octane Sky in the scene (and previous iterations) - I've attached a snap of it in case that helps clarifies anything.

The first error I had came towards the end of a single image render this morning - it was high res (4k and Pathtracing with 16000 samples) - it got to 90% of the render then crashed. Every time since, including with different scenes, Octane has crashed again.

As I say, normally it works really well on this machine, and would love to get it working again!

Thanks again
Claire

I should quickly add - even though in the snap I am using a native cloner, I was using the Octane Scatter tag before. I was just testing this time to see if it was the Scatter tag that was causing the issue...

Hi Claire,
maybe is related to the Softbox objects.
Please, try to remove them, to see if you have more stability.
Thanks,
ciao beppe
