noise as displacement map?

i have read some posts that it is possible to use noise maps for displacement - is that true? - i can't seem to get it to work - it works fine for bump.

Hi jorgensen,
yes, you can use the new Baking texture node before adding any kind of texture node, even group of nodes to displacement.
Please, have a look at this simple example with only an Octane noise :

thanks - this is so cool.
may i ask (and cut corners) how you achive thoose colors on the render? like some bokeh effects - is it only a low sun?

Hi jorgensen,
glad to hear that the scene is useful.
About the Bokeh effect, check the settings in the Thin Lens Camera node. The most important value is the Aperture edge that needs to be set at three, then you can change the Bokeh values as you like, personally, I’m used to bring to 0 the Bokeh roundness:
