Hi,
I just bought another license for my second computer. But when I try to activate it, this says that all my licenses are in use (1/1)
This while I just purchased a second license and it is visible as unused in my account setting.
What am I doing wrong here? Why can't octane find my license online?
Thanks....
Ruud

I got a reply from the Otoy that I obviously need another standalone version as well to activate the second computer.
My question therefor, what is the purpose of the extra licenses while you can't use them?

D'oh! Were you not aware that only Standalone is necessary for slaves?.. or was this a 2nd workstation, that you need to work in LW with? In other words, a slave just renders, and thus only needs Standalone.

I get that. But still, what's the single license for then? It must have a purpose..

The "plugin only" licenses make sense because they can be added to your existing Standalone licenses, for example, if you have additional Standalone licenses for network rendering or if you have them from plugins bought for another application.

that makes some sense...
But if I recall correctly it is possible to use the GPU's in the network for the IPR previews in Lightwave right?
In that case, do you also need a full license at that computer? Just for rendering along?

To use the Octane native network rendering you only need a Standalone license on each render node. Remember that this feature is limited to 20 GPUs currently, including the local ones.
But, if you want to work with the LWSN tool for network rendering, you need a full combo license (Standalone+plugin) on the network nodes.
