In this (link below) thread in the Modo Octane group was discussion about possibility to create Spotlight-like lightsource with little node. Can we have something like this?

Hi,

Yes, I suppose that should be possible. It seems that the trick is to use the falloff and gradient node, something like this:

I'll investigate it.

Thanks,

Thanks! This shader setup could be integrated as an option in the Octane_light objects. What parameters should be exposed from the nodes in the Octane_light GUI to control it?

Thanks,

i need to experiment more with it, but i seems that 'falloff skew factor' in the falloff node and 'contrast' in the colorcorrect node are the most useful ones . the light color could be used from LW light dialog, to maintain coherence with other octane lights.
