Octane plugin for C4D, student version bug

Hello,
I have recently gotten my hands on C4D R18, student version, thanks to my graphic design studies. I have installed it, and it works perfectly well with physical. Right now, it's sitting on version R18.057.
My friend told me to give octane a try, so I downloaded the fully integrated plugin for cinema4d, installed it, and booted up C4D.

Now, some things seem off. I made an imgur album of some of the things that don't work here :

But in short ; I can't create any materials, some windows look like content is missing, the tags are all marked with "?", ... I'm not sure what's going on.

Does the student version of C4D support octane's fully integrated plugins? Would the student version of C4D support octaneVR? Is this a bug on my end? Or is the octane demo missing all these features on purpose?
I would really like to get the subscription going, because as a student, the single license is way too much money for me.

Thank you very much

Hi jbkrauss,
sorry to hear that you are having so many issues with c4doctane demo.
Since we have student c4d users with subscription, I wonder if you have correctly installed the plugin, maybe the downloaded version was corrupted.
Did you carefully follow the instructions in the readme.txt file?
Please, go to c4d menu Script/Console and copy/paste the log output, thanks.
ciao beppe

Hello bepeg4d.
You were, right, something must've gone wrong when I downloaded the archive.
I redownloaded and redid the installation process, and now it works perfectly well.

Thank you so much !
