"hide object in render" ignored when using instances

Hi,
I have an object with instance attribute which shows up in the render even though it has the octane parameters with the Hide Object in Render flag turned on. I've included a hip. This is an easy workaround fix but still might be a problem for some people.

Thanks
Yaniv

Hi,

Hmm, here this feature works fine, as you can see in the attached images. It is not easy to see, but in your scene with the hide object in render option enabled, the original torus is not rendered.

Thanks,

I think I didn't explain properly, the hidden torus source works as expected and not showing up in the render.

It's the object with the instance points that renders even with the hide in render flag on. this only happens when the instance attribute is present.

Ah, yes, you are right. The instancers are not affected by this option ... well, I suppose that this option was added to hide the source instance objects (that can't be disabled using the OBJ node display flag because then Octane can't render the instances), not full instancers. In this case, I suppose that if you want to disable the full instancer object to don't render it, the native OBJ node display flag should work fine.
