max. resolution

Hi Paul,
the maximum resolution, here in Archicad plugin @ 'Film settings', is 8000 x 8000 pixels - is there some (technical?) cause for that?
It would be very nice if you could "open" it - if it's possible of course
(I have a panoramic image just here to render and something about 30.000 x 15.000 would be very very very nice)
Thanks in advance & cheers,
Artur

I can increase the resolution sliders. However I suspect at 30000 x 15000 there is a very high risk of running out of VRAM and/or RAM if you are doing this within ArchiCAD. May I suggest exporting to .ORBX and rendering in Octane Standalone in this case? It would be a more stable workflow.

Yes, please increase them
Standalone is a workaround, of course, but not so comfortable for me
(With standalone I can render with max. 33000x16500, without problems - at 34000x17000 standalone crashes)
Thanks & greetings,
Artur

Does that mean that we will be able to export directly stereo 360 VR cubemaps??

Well, I admit that I don't get the 'Cube map' projection (+x, -x, +y, -y...) to work at all properly - not to mention with stereo output.
Up to now, I render first the left, than the right image (spherical [=equirectangular] projection, in Archicad) @ 8.000x4.000 pixels.
When Paul will make it possible to us to render with e.g. 30.000 pixels wide, so with stereo 'side-by side' and spherical projections, you'll get
an effective stereo image with 15.000x7.500 pixels in one render job.
By the way, here an example of mine; effective (stereo) resolution is 8.000x4.000, works fine with my google-cardboard-like device (2.048 x 1.536 screen),
just activate the VR-glasses-icon at the bottom:

OK, I will increase the max resolution to 30000 X, 15000 Y in the next release.

Emmm...it's still 8.000 x 8.0000 - jest do it

I have looked at this issue again - and the memory constrain is with the ArchiCAD UI widget that is used to display the Octane Viewport. So 8000 x 8000 is the maximum practical limit. If you need 30,000x15,000 then export to ORBX and render in Octane Standalone.
Thanks
Paul

Okay.
With Standalone I haves some material problems (no non-standard chars or too long material names etc.), so it's not an option at the moment.
I'm going to make a separate post about it.
