Mac Pro (Mid 2010)
2 x 2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6144 MB
Latest Nvidia Web Driver
OctaneRender 3.06.1
Octane-for-C4D-V3.06
I had upgraded my system to Sierra and everything was working well but a recent update to Sierra stopped the Nvidia driver working, I updated the NVidia driver and that stopped Cinema booting! Found a tip that deleting "libosmesa.dylib" in the Cinema folder would make Cinema work but now Octane's Live Viewer tells me "There is no CUDA device which is supported by Octane Render" even though the NVidia Driver Manager can see the GTX 980 Ti
Please don't tell me the latest Octane has now made the GTX 980 Ti obsolete! Or has deleting libosmesa.dylib killed Octane?

Sadly I can only state the obvious but wouldn't be a good idea to just go back and wait for drivers and support to come out? btw the work your website is great!

I don't have any technical problem windows is a friend of Nvidia . But I will jump on this post to another problem. Where is the help file, you know the thing that could interactively give you an answer. I know that there is an online help but it is not up to date. I appreciate new version of the plug-in but I would like also that someone there put some more energy to update the manuals. Maybe i'm the bug but where can I find info about the "Triplanar node" and where can I get info about the "compare node" for example. A little help would be appreciate. Don't follow the path of Autodesk and forget about the customers

I very much agree with this. A help system and tutorials is an integrated part of any software program. If help isn't complete...the software isn't finished.

Are you checking the online manual? I don't think that's a very uncompleted manual but yes a few new addons are not included yet. If that's so big problem sorry but you can easily follow standalone release topics and read explanations.

Hi Iceman9,
about Triplanar node, please, look at this fast example:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=60947&p=311890&hil ... ar#p311890
about Comperison node, a possible use is for obtaining a mask from a texture when you really don't have it, look at this fast example:
changing the second value from 0 to 0.5 you can define where to mask the yellow color.

Hey all, this thread was diverted and I've been working with Arnold in the meantime but I'd really like to get Octane working on my Mac. I there any official response Otoy can give me? I can't be the only user in this situation, how can I fix it?

Hi Beppe
Thanks, your message may have been what tipped me to delete the libosmesa.dylib file originally and that fixed Cinema not launching but I've got a feeling it also killed Octane for me. Been having a fiddle and reinstalled CUDA etc and now it seems to be happy again so all OK for now...
