Octane material attribute tied to distance from a null

I am trying to replicate the use of Lightwaves Gradient input of "Distance to Object" in an Octane material. Basically trying to use that gradient to control the diffuse channel and displacement channel and normal channel of the Octane Diffuse material so that an effect "wipes" across the surface following an object's position. I have tried using distance node but i cannot multiply it with the multiply node because the input doesn't accept the result. I hope that makes sense.

thanks

Hi,

I'm afraid that this is not possible currently. Octane can't evaluate this distance to an object at render time because it doesn't have a proper node to do this. I hope that with the OSL feature this kind of effects could be possible in the near future.

Thanks,

Any chance this is now possible? If not, any workaround?
