Bloom Treshold?

Hey guys,
I have been using Octane for a while now and I´ve noticed a thing that bothered me. In some scenes I would like to use
some post effects like bloom. But since my camera is set to Linear which results in a higher-than-normal gamma level, I can´t really find a use for
the bloom or glare effects because the image gets all washed out. So I had the idea of a bloom treshold setting. I think that would really be appreciated.

Hi Cr4zyFX,
could you post a screenshot or annexample scene?
The use of linear response and gamma is not clear, which values are you using exactly?
Have you tried to use the post effect in render pass mode?
You should be able to better see the effect of the post, and eventually change the result in ps.

The linear response makes the image darker so i push the gamma higher. The gamma settings vary from scene to scene.
And yes, its better to change the results using postproduction and render passes. It was just an idea of mine
to have a treshold which controlls the bloom effect based on the brightness of a surface.
For example: set the treshold to 100 and only lights are affected by the bloom effect.
I haven´t had an issues with octane, just wanted to share my idea so maybe a dev sees it

I think this is a good idea as well. It would be really handy to have some more control when a bloom starts to form.
