ORBX import into Maya - WHEN ???

I have to take ORBX scenes from Rhino and animate cameras and objects with Maya.
At the moment I am merging those elements within the standalone because Maya is unable to import ORBX scenes (including geo and textures).
Rhino can import ORBX scenes which is super cool but since I have to stick to Maya to animate, I am waiting for years now for this basic feature.

Please make it possible to import ORBX proxies into Maya.
This is super important and many people need this for exchange because Octane has many plugin platforms.
It is not a fancy feature but urgent required.

We'll see how it goes in 3.07

So 3.07 (Octane for Maya) has definitely the ORBX import feature?
That would be awesome.

ORBX import and inspection/edits from plug-in leveraging the standalone UX is now exposed in the 3.07 SDK. It works great in Unity, SU and others we have tested so far. There is still some work (and possibly threading/stability issues) that needs to happen for the SA UX to run perfectly in a host app, but we think we've addressed most of these issues now.

For a plug-in to support ORBX importing, the plug-in must at minimum support a bounding proxy volume for the ORBX, and then have a button to support 'view source' of the ORBX proxy to modify it in the SA UX.

This is exactly how OBRX import is exposed in Unity using the new SDK API:

Best,
JO

Give us this at least. your last 3.06 update is still completely broken for some of us (even though it's listed as stable)

3.07 test releases should be out next month, and finalized before Unity 2017.1 ships with this version this summer.

I don't understand why Unity is the preferred testing platform. Who the hell uses Unity to do render? Am I missing something? :|

No one but they will when Octane is embedded. There isn't anything we are adding that won't be in get core engine and make it's way to other plugins.
