Export Mix Material From Stand Alone To C4D Plug-in

Hello,

I have completely avoided the Stand Alone for a couple years now, just be using the C4D plug-in, which works for me best but I have a problem now...

I have a mix material that was sent to me in .orbx file format, which looks great in the Stand Alone version but when I import it into the C4D via the Live Viewer all I get is a blank white material, missing all the nodes in the node editor. I have also tried saving it into the LocalDB, same result, blank white material. What is the correct process for exporting from the Stand Alone to the Plug-In?

I am using Octane Stand Alone and Plug-In 3.05.3

Thanks,
Chris

Save it to localdb from SA and import from livedb manager in C4D.

I have tried that many times with no success. I still get default white sphere thumbnail and zero nodes in the node editor.

Hi Chris,
if could share the .orbx material here or via PM, we can have a look at it and try to fix it.

Hi Chris,
you can only share Materials .orbx files between Standalone and plugins for now, so the first thing to do is to group all the nodes that are related with the material that we want to save:

then you can right click on the group and save al the nodes o the material in LocalDB, LiveDB or .orbx file:

Once saved in the LocalDB, remember to right click the material and select "Make thumbnail" option:

In C4D, open the LiveDB window, go to the proper LocalDB category, select the material and press the Download button:

Happy rendering,
