Curious if Octane will recognize a setup with an internal Pascal card and multiple external Maxwell cards linked through type-c connection. Thanks!

As long as You have external solution that windows could see those cards, for OctaneRender architecture will not matter at all.

SO there's no issue of bottleneck with something like the Amfeltic open air rack? There was some concern about that issue with RedShift, which is why I am asking. Thanks.

Thunderbolt 3 caries multiple signals via cable, however itself is a bit of a bottleneck since most of those thunderbolt devices are providing x4 lanes. so it's not the same as if You would plug the card in x8 or x16 =)

another thing is Your amfeltec cluster (x1), backplate (x1) or splitter (x4) - all of those have their own interface limitations.. - the card here is nowhere near to be the bottleneck or somehow limit You..- it's the way You connect that (those) card(s) matter more ;)

Connection itself, again it's say nothing TB via USB Type C is just a type of signal + socket type..but what sits after that socked (PCB design, chips, etc) are those things that matter most.

Overall You get what You pay & powerful boxes to cost for multiple (let's say 4) GPUs cost around 2k$ equipped with PCIe host board to allow communication via x8 or x 16 lanes. if You buy anything that cost couple or even 500$, do not expect it to be as fast..
