What nodes work with displacement?

I know that "a displacement texturemap, and procedural textures and Octane nodes which modify the displacement texturemap will be ignored".
I guess that's why a "noise" doesn't works with a "displacement map".
(But I'm not really sure to understand what is texturemap)

Actually I can only make "displacement map" work with a simple "RGB image". Why?
And why "RGB image"+"color correction" doesnt work with "displacement map"?

Is there a way to use those node (noise, color correction, multiply texture,...) with "displacement map"?

connect rgb image and use textures, other procedurals still don't work apparently, I think non of it works, maybe the transform node - but the built in max procedurals work cause it's baked at runtime.. be aware it will be slower to load (or something) each time you use it - but at least it works, and that's fine
