Viewport Texture Quality & Light Previews

I know I was the guy always complaining about the textures not displaying correctly in the working 3dsmax viewport, and now that is "fixed" to a point, I am happy. However the actual quality of those preview textures is TERRIBLE compared to any other renderer, like just basic scanline or vray. See the comparison below. The problem is that sometimes the quality of the preview textures is so low res and junked, that I cannot actually work with a client to show good previews. I have to actual render just to show them the textures. Is there something that you can do to improve this ?

Also why can't we preview the OCTANE lights in 3dsmax working viewport the same way we can with VRAY or STANDARD lights, showing actual illumination, shadow, falloff etc ?

Octane is a great rendering engine, but has a bad preview system in the actual working 3dsmax windows.

Thanks
Richard

Hi richardyarlett,
for now you could increase the preview textures in viewport configuration.

It is already at maximum at 8000. It makes no difference with hardware preview, and even in software preview, Octane is not supported so it makes no difference.

Yes, but he didn't answer the most important thing that texture display in the viewport you need to perform two actions the first action is to increase the quality of the textures in the max as advised and the most important to increase the display quality of the texture in the octane render
