Yesterday I unlocked my activation yesterday (4 left) so I can use Octane C4D on my laptop while I'm travelling, but it says it's still in use on my desktop. Can anyone help? Thanks

Plugin should deactivate your license when you closed C4D. Unlock button is just for emergency conditions. Check activations from licenses page. Check if your C4D closed properly and doesn't hang on task manager.

Do you mean when I close the desktop version of C4D then my laptop version should work? I'm away from my desktop for the next few weeks so I can't quit the program. I left it to finish a long render. On my license page, it shows that I have used up one.

yes, the license is floating, you can use softwares like Teamviewer, to close c4d and free up the license on your office pc when finished.
Then go to your OctaneLive page to check the state of your licenses. If deactivated, you can start to work on another machine immediately.
If still active, another way to deactivate without using the web Unlock, is to open Standalone on the active machone (via Teamviewer), go to File/Account and signout. In this way, all the active license will be deactivated, and the counter will not be reduced.
