Hi,
I'm using the octane render demo, I love all the videos and stuff about it, so I decided to check out.
The problem is, he is running sooo slow, and is slowing all my pc when I try to render, even a simple thing.
When I to in the preferences of octane, it says to disable SLI, but I think my video card don't even have it !
I have a quad core xeon 2,67ghz
4,00 Ram
quadro nvs 295
running on Win 7 32bits.
If anyone can help me, I appreciate.
Thanks,

Hi Batatalio,
Octane Render is un-biased renderer, GPU based.
It uses the video card in your computer to render photorealistic results fast...
It uses Cuda core.
Nvidia quadro nvs 295:
GPU Specs: CUDA Cores 8
GPU Memory Specs: Memory Size Total 256 MB GDDR3
You should switch to another card with more vram and core.
There are very good GTX cards, which do not cost much..

Hi,
As Magog said, your GPU is very slow,
Upgrading to a current model (GTX5xx series) will make a big difference,
these have up to 320 cores instead of 8.
Also, when rendering with one GPU, every pass octane does, windows cannot use the GPU to update the display,
as GPUs do not have a multi-tasking operating system on them currently.
With fast cards this is less of a problem, and completely dissapears when using a 2nd card for octane rendering, and your primary card for display only (this can be a slower card)

thanks Magog and radiance !
uhn, I was afraid of that, but I give a try in with a second video card.
I was looking for somethings about ATI video cards too, and seem that doesn't work couse of the CUDA drivers, but maybe someday or that is out of question ?
Well, thanks again for the answers and the tips ! very helpful !
cheers.
