Motion Blur / Nuke

Hey Guys

Does anyone use Nuke/NukeX in their Octane workflow?

We still haven´t figured out how to obtain Motionblur with the "Motion Vector" pass and a VectorBlur node in Nuke.

Any pointers in the right direction is most welcome :)

Best Regards
Nicolaj

Hey Nicolaj,

We´re having the same problem here at Frame :) Its really annoying as we need it for a project we´re are working on now.
We found a tutorial that fixes from Houdini though, but we can´t get it to work in here.. Maybe it makes sense for you??

I had a look at your link, and uv-offset doesn´t seem to help.

But i did a render test with Arnold instead, and took a look at the values in Nuke (Motion Vector pass).

Octane Motion Pass Values is around:
Red: -0.005
Green: 0.06

Arnold Motion Pass Values is around:
Red: -12.47
Green: 35.17

Arnold motion vectors is working right out of the box.
So i connected a Grade node to the Octane Motion pass, and unchecked "Black Clamp" and turned "Whitepoint" down to 0.002.
Which gave me the same high values as Arnold.

And now it seems to work with the vectorblur node.

But it´s more like a hack/work-around. So i guess the Octane motion pass has way to low values.

Oh, and "Hi Frame!", say hello to Jakob from me :)

Hey,

I'm using octane for C4D, and I am also trying to get the motion vector pass to appear, it only comes out as grey as well for me.
I cant seem to find any documentation to get the motion vector pass to appear correctly, could anyone help me with this?
I'm compositing in after effects....

Thanks!
