Fall Off question + new options in V3

Hello everyone,

i'm trying to have more control on the falloff texture,
i need a texture that is very dark in the borders (on a cylinder)
on a few millimeters and which gets very light then.
With the actual falloff, the gradient is too soft and i can achieve this effect
(for example with the native LW gradient node i would put 2 dark keys near the grazing and play with them)
Also is there a tutorial or help regarding the new options of the falloff node in V3?
Thanks a lot for your help ;)

Olivier

The falloff node "Falloff Skew Factor" parameter should help. It controls the falloff softness.

Thanks,

Thanks Juanjo,

I know but it still gets too soft, or not precise enough to control the falloff
in most of the cases (in the glazing angle mostly)
I tried to put a LW gradient node connected to the procedural input
but it doesn't seems to do anything, but i guess it's normal...
I will deal with a UV map and a texture for the moment,
if you think of anything else that could help
you're very welcome :)
Thanks again

Olivier

Seems like I use to do a fake frensel with a gradient and grazing angle or something in LW Native. Since the falloff node is just a black and white node output into the specular. Is there a way that a gradient could be plugged into the specular? May be a limitation currently in Octane. Since Octane as I understand it needs to be real world stuff, not faked. Would be nice to have more control here though....
