TurbulenceFD - Octane and multiple containers...

Hi All,

I've posted this in the jawset forums too, but not entirely sure where the fix lies, so apologies if this isn't technically the correct place to be discussing this. I am using octane however, so it should be semi-relevant :)

I'm using multiple TFD containers for a simple small explosion. Where the smoke sim bounds (shown in green in the viewport) I'm getting a line on top of the fire portion (which is a separate sim).

The image attached illustrates this...

If I turn off the bottom radial dust/smoke sim, the line disappears. I've played with the medium settings in the octane object tag, but cannot get rid of it. Anyone else had this and maybe know a workaround? I have two separate sims because one is the fireball AND smoke, and the second is JUST the smoke ring at the bottom. I'd like to render them at the same time because it looks better.

Thanks so much bepeg4d - that appears to have done the trick. I have one more issue, which I'm not 100% sure if this has been introduced by my adjusting the step length. See the attached image...

I have almost like staircasing at the top here - this isn't the overlap issue like before...at least, I think it isn't, as I've checked the bounding box an it is above this. Any ideas?

Hi cahaldallett,
yes, I suspect that the issue was introduced by the changing in the step length, the blocky voxels result from a very high density. The higher the density, the closer you get to a solid object, which will render like a diffuse mesh. Try to reduce the density and decrease the step length a bit.
