Picking a power supply for Octane rendering

I want to build a new computer eventually, but one thing I want to make sure of is that I get the proper power supply. My question is, if I get two 1080s would I need something like, a 1000+ watt powersupply or do I get a 650w based on SLI? I know octane doesn't render through sli so this is where I start to question which I would actually need.

Don't skimp. Go for a 1300W - 1500W Gold or Platinum. You may find yourself wanting 4 GPUs down the road, and you are not going to want to swap out PSU just because you bought another GPU or two. My PSU (EVGA Supernova G2 1300W) is currently a paltry $184.99 on amzn, and it rocks. If you're not in the USA, try to get SuperFlower if available (I think they might actually be the main supplier for EVGA).

My last one was a Corsair 850W (don't recall the exact model), and it had a horrible coil whine -- so they had a chance to win my PSU brand-loyalty, and blew it. EVGA is my brand, henceforth, unless they blow it.

Correct - EVGA or Superflower with at least 8 GPU connectors, e.g. evga 1600 p2 or SF 1600W titanium. Try also to chose evga or sf with the eco button.

I probably won't go beyond 2 cards honestly. I have been using corsair brand power supplies with no issues but a lot of friends have been recommending evga recently. So with just 2 1080s what should a be shooting for in terms of wattage?
