3ds max issues

Hello!

I used only standalone version, but now I have model with too much elements, without understanding where and what material should be. So I need to have it render on 3ds max, with real time tweaking.

Maybe I missed some topics or news, so sorry

I'm using 3.03.4

1) Why 3ds max Octane viewport doesn't update lights size and positions ?
2) Is it possible to render image without visible HDRI environment?
3) Sun+ HDRI doesn't work together. As I remember - that works in standalone.

4) Non 3ds max question - is there still issue with GPU memory limit ?

Hi, some answers as far as I know and use;

1- For size and position update, you need to convert lights into movable proxies (octane properties - check mov proxy)
2- In kernel settings, enable alpha chanel
3- When you leave environment in daylight mode, but insert HDRI in the texture slot, you will have Sun + HDRI working together.

Hi SkyGround,
1) Right-click mouse > select "octane properties" > then select "movable proxy", then refresh OctaneRender Viewport
3) If you need a physical sun (sharp shadows) and environment as a backplate or by reflection and refraction, you can use two Octane daylight.
4) what do you mean with "issue with GPU memory limit"?

GPU memory is limited to Vram as it used to be, everything from standalone works on the plugin...

here, try my script might help you start up quicker, https://gum.co/nBymZ stuff like moveable proxy is on a single button click, otherwise it's right click on object, moveable proxy etc.. basic buttons that are otherwise a few buttons deeper..
