Network Rendering Over Internet

From what I understand, if you have x octane licenses and x computers in the same network, you can use all of the computers available gpu´s for network rendering.

Now my question is, does this also work if you have, like myself, one machine at home and one in the office? Would it be possible to access them remotely and use them for network rendering?

Thanks in advance!

My understanding is that Network Rendering works over a local network. so doing this over the internet may be challenging. Check docs.otoy.com for details in the network rendering section. Even if you did get it to work, the performance (transferring scenes from the slave to the host) would be poor.
