Seems to cause a lot of crashed, and I can open the file, it simply crashed on open. I seem to recall the same issue with the alpha of redshift?

Hmm, I have no other reports about corrupted files using Octane. Have you loaded an Octane scene file in a Houdini without the Octane plugin? This can indeed destroy all the Octane nodes and information, and I'm not sure if a scene file corruption is possible even in this case.

Do you know if Houdini crashed while saving the scene, or the scene file has become corrupted without a previous crash?

I don't know if it is related at all but I had this kind of corrupted scenes when using the wrong stand alone version with the latest octane plugin.

it kind of deseappeared when I switched to 3.05.

The Standalone application is not used at all by the plugin, so I don't think that this could be the problem. Anyway if you can reproduce this problem again, please let me know.

Good to know.

I have a huge scene that keeps crashing and when I try to open it after crash it gives me a "text without brace" error in the console and crashes again. Strangely I can open the last backup scene. I will try to simplify it and send it here.
