How to create this material

Been trying to replicate a similar material to this one...

I feel like its a sub surface material added into a mix with maybe a specular material acting as the gloss with a roughness material creating the slightly smudged reflection.

Sort of like a jelly bean look to it. It looks pretty simple on first glance but I've tried my best to get it to look like this.

Any ideas? I'm using Cinema 4D and latest Octane but I think the technique would be the same whichever app your in.

hi Mike!

from the first glance it seems that beauty of this material comes not from surface but from deep under. I might be wrong but I guess to get this effect You need to play with SSS (absorption & scattering). Try that, spot some of Your test as You go & we'll help You to achieve what You wish =)

Hey man sorry for late reply I only just noticed this, started turning notifications on via the posts.

Yes well I had a friend help me but its all setup now...I am having problems with Octane however, it crashes ALOT more so than my Mac did with eGPU.

I'm assuming its either a hardware fault or Octane C4D isn't playing well with my Pascal cards...It seems to work fine in Standalone.
(more in this thread viewtopic.php?f=86&t=58314)

But yes Im all setup and to be quite honest I don't miss OSX one bit, windows 10 is actually really nice. My workplace has also bought a very expensive PC for Octane so I'm just hoping to god we don't have the problems at work that I'm having at home otherwise alot of projects will be screwed after Christmas.

Thanks for your advice and tips on previous thread, helped me alot!
