Octane VR License

Hi

I was thinking about purchasing octane. After some looking around i discovered the subscription option for VR. It is more suitable as I am a freelance artist and mostly create my own work.
I have a few questions.

Does it support c4d R18?
Do I understand it right that I can only use 2 gpu in my machine? Even if I have 3 ?
Does it get updates simultaneously with the normal renderer for the same subscription price?
As it states beta, does the sub price change once it goes live or at another point in time?

I understand there is no network render and no crossplatform license use wich seems weird as it does not support net rendering anyway.

Does all the other options just work like the original octane render engine? Been tinkering around with the demo and I like what I see.

Hope you can shed some light on the differences between VR and the original and VR's future.

Cheers,
Ewoud

I don't know there's a crossplatform limitation. But right that no NetRender and max 2 gpus to use. It should be ok if you have 3 gpus. It will use 2 of 3.
And for updates; You'll get that as in normal version when it's possible.

Thnx for the reply aoktar.
How about the r18 compatibility? Is the vr just a dressed down version of the normal renderer. Just like the demo is a further dressed down version?

Srry don't quite understand what you are asking exactly. The demo is working good on r18 if that's what your mean.

The intent of Octane VR is too offer an inexpensive (possibly free) option for students or smaller studios on a budget who want to do commercial work with Octane and cannot afford the full price.

To that end, we are also working on sponsorship for a new VR contest in '17. This why we are keeping the OVR name). At minimum, from the OTOY side, we will award the top monthly entries with free annual licenses to full Octane suite, + ORC credits (useful for those who already have full licenses).

I did but they say that they dont sell only OctaneVR Standalone subscription. I hope they can reconsider that in the future because I would not like to pay for a plugin that I'll never use.
