Texture Image Question

Image

Is the role of "Texture from LW Image" different from Textured from "Texture From File"?

Why do I use "Texture From File" when working with LW?

The image in "Texture From File" will not be changed from Replace in Image Editor

I have not used anything specifically when I work ... What is the reason for existence?

You can use this option to work with image files, but it is there especially to use IES files, that Octane loads with the same function used to load texture maps.

It can be also useful if you are working with large texture maps. If you set the image file using this option, the texture is not loaded by LightWave at all. It is only loaded by Octane at render time, so the LightWave scene can be loaded faster and you can save some CPU RAM.

There are several advantages.

I will write down the inconvenience.

I do not have "Replace" so I need to find and replace all the images. Do you know I'm wrong? (Sometimes when I got an error, I had to find all the images in the material and change them.)

Nope, sorry. There is not a replace image feature using the "Texture from file" option.
