Network render node not showing up

I have a simple home network. Two PCs connected to the same router via ethernet cable. They can share files / share screens / etc. All of the basic network functionality is set up. I have Windows Firewall turned off on both PCs. Both are running the most recent version of Octane render and my main PC is running the most recent version of the C4D plugin. I installed the daemon on my slave PC and ran the daemon / logged in. No errors.

However, when I open OctaneRender network preferences, no nodes show up in the window. I have 'enable network rendering' checked off.

Is there anything obvious I could be missing?

Hi elihu252,
have you change something in the IP settings of the Octane network configuration window?
If both PC have the same SDK version and are in the same subnet, the master should see the slave automatically
What are exactly the two IP addresses?

I've not changed any settings. My local addresses are 192.168.0.3 and 192.168.0.14.

I haven't messed with any type of network settings in Windows 10 either. Everything is default. Although I have some shared folders that I can access across both PCs.

EDIT: Also, I just wanted to say that Team Render works fine. My machines show up with no problems.

So I got it to work. The problem was that I wasn't using the correct port, so I changed that inside of the network render settings.

The weird part is that when I started the Octane daemon on my slave computer, it would only run up to the point where it said: "Out-of-core rendering: disabled"

Then, after I tried to set up logging to figure out what was wrong (by copying the "octane_daemon_log_flags.txt" file to the OctaneRender directory), the Daemon would go one step further and say "start listening for masters on port xxxx". The log file didn't have an effect on how the daemon functioned either way, but having that last message about the port was the smack in the forehead that I needed to make sure my port setting was correct.

Anyways thanks for the help. You indirectly solved my problem :D
