Octane modelling and Animation program

Just consider for a moment if Radiance and the team were to create a 3d modelling and animation program to go with the Octane Renderer.

I know that the market is crowded with 3d modelling programs. All targeted at different markets.

And I know that they could not start this at the moment as they are trying to complete V1.0 and above of the Octane Renderer

However the advantages for an Octane Modelling and Animation program would be:

1) They could start with a clean sheet of paper.

2) They have a large user base of beta testers (and growing) that use all, or most of the other modelling programs out there and who could make suggestions on the best bits of the other programs to incorporate into the Octane Modelling and animation program.

3) Imaging the speed of rendering an animation within a tightly integrated rendering pipeline with the Octane renderer built in.

Of course they could still offer octane renderer as a stand alone program as well.

Imagine integrating the best ideas from:

A) Zbrush – for organic modelling
B) Maya – for animation
C) Autocad & inventor for 3d engineering and architecture
D) Terragen – for landscapes etc
E) Sketchup – for ease of use and fast creation of 3d objects.

(Sorry if I’ve left some out)

Anyway just a idea for the future.

Please feel free to shoot me down in flames
;)

It's possible... when cloning machines will sell at 50EUR in local store. :D

Seriously, they should stick to developing Octane and Octane only, until the program matures, becomes well placed in the market and generates stable revenue.

flame #1;)

imo i dont think that it will make sense to build a new 3d suite from scratch for rs.
but if i would build a new one, i would "copy" everything from blender  :)

Without going into an entire modeling app from scratch, I would love to see a way to add/remove/reposition lights from within octane without having to re-export.

The problem of your idea is that you want everything, a super-mega-awesome program that incorporates all the CG functionality known to man :D

For that you wold need two or three battalions of Terrences and Marcuses, armed with plasma pulse keyboards and lifetime rations of coffee, with ballistic cash-flow fire support from orbiting space-station...

Time to get out the Cloning machine i guess.

Now i need a sample of Radiances or Abstrax's hair..... :)

Now that's a scary thought.
