Z-Depth w/TFD

Hi all,

I've got a scene ready to render here with some smoke in the scene as shown here https://gyazo.com/8f03d94850ca262d589f0727ffeb7634
I want to make a depth pass to AE to composite with Frischluft, but for some reason, the particles do not come up the pass. TFD is not something I use very often, but I've got all the medium and gradients working on the diffuse layer (as shown here https://gyazo.com/b85d784f976b7ae12dfc3c2554f61cbe )
so I'm not sure if I am missing something or not :/
Any help is appreciated :)

The Renderer does not yet support z-depth for volume objects.

But how is it possible to have a zdepth for a volume object anyway ?
A volume object have no surface so which depth Octane should choose for one pixel ?

It seems to me this is exactly why Deep-Exr rendering is implemented in Octane and what we are supposed to use in this case.
Deep EXR files store a variable-length list of samples with multiple values at different depths for each pixel.
