Network Rendering Question

I have a new machine that I want to use for rendering with Octane. It's not my main machine but I'm wondering how I can use it's GPU for network rendering.
I currently own:
- Octane Render Standalone v3 (upgraded from v2)
- Octane Render Maxon Cinema 4D v3 (upgraded from v2)
Do I need to purchase another Standalone for the extra machine? Or can I just use my current standalone on the new machine and still use my Maxon Cinema 4D Octane on the machine that I'm running C4D on?
Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,
yes correct, you need another Standalone license for every slave in order to use it in net rendering mode from your c4dOctane Master. The big difference with every other network rendering system is that you always have the power of all the GPUs in your LAN, not only during the final rendering. It's a pleasure to setup the scene in Live View with a lot of GPUs

confusing, i thought one would need another standalone+plug-package for an additional node to be able to use those additional gpu-power for rendering in c4d.
so, just to make it perfectly clear, following situation:
1st workstation with 2 built-in gpu, 1 standalone + and 1 c4d-plug license.
2nd computer with - let's say - 2 built-in gpu.
now, if i want to work within c4d and want to render with all 4 gpu that are in the lan, be it in the live viewer or in the picture viewer:
do i need an additional standalone (~400$) for the 2nd computer or an additional standalone+plugin-package (~600$)?

Only a Standalone license for every additional Slave node, no plugin is needed in a Slave node

so, only 1 additional standalone license and then i can render with all gpu (2 on workstation and 2 additional on 1 pc in lan) within c4d in the picture viewer, the same as i would do if i used c4d-renderer via teamrender while - but instead of starting the teamrenderer client (as i would have to do with c4d-renderings) i would have to start the the standalone as slave and have a go with 4 cards rendering in the workstation's picture viewer?

Yes correct, and you can use it also in Live Viewer:
Or in Picture viewer:
If enabled for the Picture Viewer, it works also with Render Queue or Team Render.
You can have a max of 20 GPUs per single Master, considering both the GPUs in the Master and in the Slaves.
Happy rendering,

thx for the clarification.
