Network reworking

Hi,

right now Octane let you network render 1 frame, this is very good for print and big detailed images, but in the case of videos this process is not the most optimal.

I wonder if there are plans to add 1gpu/frame render mode. The reason of that is that is every frame needs to prepare before render, and if the image is rendered very fast there is no time to the network to send data (and of course it will freeze the render at some point). So in that cases, that you took to render 1 frame in 20 seconds with for example 5 GPU + 20 seconds for preparing one single frame, 40 seconds every frame, 200 seconds in total. But, if we could send and render 1 frame per GPU it would cost 100 seconds to render +20 seconds to prepare, but 5 frames are working at the same time, so it would cost 120 seconds in total the 5

This will increase the render speed by 40%. I am assuming that the cpu is not fully charged when prepare a scene, so it will be able to prepare 5 scenes in the same or a little more time. Also, supposing it takes 40 seconds to prepare instead of 20. It will still 140 seconds, that still gives us a 30% increase render speed.

So, my question is, Are you working on this network rendering mode?

Thank you

Hi JavierVerdugo,
in general, the net rendering speed depends from the complexity of the scene and by the speed of your network.
Could you describe which kind of scene are you normally rendering and the spec of all the machines involved?
thanks,
