I am using a hdri to light an interior scene but i'm getting very grainy results.

When I use a daylight with some area lights the grain disappears :|

My current settings are:

Environment tag-
Power 10

ImageTexture-
Power 1
Gamma 2.2

Directlighting-
Max. samples 2048
GI Diffuse
Spec depth 8
Glossy 6
Diffuse depth 2
AO dis 8

CameraImager-
Exposure 1.2
Gamma 1.35

Any help would be appreciated!

Bump up the Diffuse depth.
Try switching to Pathtracing and play with the GI Clamp. Move it to around 0.5-1.

I suspect your HDRI is the cause of the problem.

Always try different setups to see where is real problem. Different hdri or pure color variations will help for case. We can't understand the issue with just numbers you gave. But some hdris are giving really bad results. Or just try to play with gamma values.

Thank you both for your suggestions.

Bumping up the defuse has helped a bit but I start to lose a bit of definition with some objects in the scene.

I have been using the from https://hdri-locations.com/freesample?activate=2 I have tried different hdris but still get some grainyness. Lowering the gamma of the hdri has helped a bit but the grain is still noticable.

Is there anything else you can suggest?

Thanks again! :D
