hi zat, unfortunately the demo is not yet built to work with cuda 3.2, it works only with cuda 3.0. you could try to overwrite the cuda staff installing the cuda 3.1 toolkit and the cuda 3.1.17 that works fine with 10.6.5 or install on another hd a fresh copy of osx 10.6.5 with the cuda 3.1 staff only for testing the demo.
anyway the 1.24.4 commercial beta works fine on 10.6.6 and cuda 3.2 ;)

Unfortunately the current demo version runs only with the CUDA 3.0 toolkit, which doesn't support your graphics card. We are planning to provide a newer demo version, but it's not available yet.
-> You can't run the demo version on your MacBook yet.

On the other hand the current commercial version should run on your MacBook, but the GPU you have is very slow and probably not really useful for Octane. Unfortunately the situation for Macs is not getting better at the moment as there are no current generation NVIDIA cards available for Macs. -> If possible, I recommend that you maybe check out Octane on a PC first and if you are happy with it, get a PC, which would allow you to use current generation graphics cards and believe me, it's a difference like day and night.

Cheers,
Marcus

sorry, i forgot to mention, as marcus said, that your gt120 is not good for octane but you can find an already old gtx 285 on ebay for a good price and leave the gt 120 only for display that is the best way for enjoying octane.
I have this configuration and i can tell you that the gtx 285 is quite as fast as a single gtx 460, not so bad ;)

hi zat,
unfortunately there aren't too much options for us, mac users :(
ther is also the quadro 4000 but it costs a lot more, it has quite the same numbers of cores of the gtx 285 and the mac quadro drivers aren't so good.
another solution could be to buy a gtx 5xx and run the macpro with win7
anyway a gtx 285 on ebay is a cheap solution for starting with octane and you don't have to miss osx ;)
