Hello,
is it possible to apply a different material at front and back of a plane?
Thanks,
Elele.

Hi Elele - Octane will only render one side of a one sided plane. To render both sides it needs to be a two-sided plane.

Hi Paul,
What does that mean exactly? Do I need two actual pieces of geometry with opposite normals? Or is there a way to define a single plane as a two-sided plane?
I want to render a cup, where you would both see the inside aswell as the outside. But I would rather not model actual thickness on the cup since it is so thin. Do I duplicate the geometry and flip the normals of one?
Thanks.

The sides of a cup (or any object) have a (non-zero) thickness - so this needs to be modeled as two sides, not one.

Is it possible to tell Octane that a plane has two sides?
I have several models with planes facing random directions (yeah... a texture that's facing towards a camera in one place, and away in another). Its also a serious issue with models which textures that emit.
