Metropolis Light Transport

Hi, i was o youtube and saw an interesting video about Metropolis Light Transport on gpu.

when i saw those pretty caustics i remembered that octane team was developing some kind of MTL

i just want to kow if is possible to get caustics in a near future.

First there is already caustics in PT, and second we are NOT getting MLT...... instead they are giving us RLT (Refractive's Light Transport) which will be much better I'm sure, check the forum for the thread announcement, and it'll be implemented in the 1.0 which I think is pretty close (Radiance dixit) ;)

Hi guys,

As said before we are working on a new custom bidirectional integrator.
MLT might seem nice for this particular test, but it also has many drawbacks that make it innefficient for other types of scenes,
and it can make rendertimes go through the roof for many practical scenes...

I think we can do much better with our custom solution, even if it takes more time to implement.
