Hi there,

I'm new to octane render and i have no idea what i've done wrong:

When ever i'm turning on path tracing AND daylight, im getting some (more or less big) aberrations.
You see what i mean?

I used the yellow marble texture from CheesSet from the DemoSuite to texture this scene.
What do i have to do in order to avoid this probleme?

My System:
Windows 7 64 bit
Nvidia GTX 570 (266.58 WHQL)
CUDA 3.2.16 for windows 64 bit

And i'm using the octane render demo 2.2 (for win 7 64 bit ;)

You mean the bright pixels "sprinkled" around the image? They are fireflies. Mathematically speaking they represent samples/paths of high contribution, but low probability. You basically just have to wait until they "get sampled away". The current version of Octane also adds "hotpixel filter" that allows you to filter out fireflies.

Cheers,
Marcus

Thanks.

So i just have to wait till octane calculated 20000 samples and than the "fireflies" will disappear?

Do you mean beta 2.3 with "the current version"?
If yes:
When will there be a demo version of 2.3 (because i would like to buy octane render but before i do so, i want to make sure that i can render pictures without these fireflies...)

Hi,

Our current versions are much better in this area and have the filter as abstrax mentioned, a demo of our latest 2.4 commercial branch will be made available in a few weeks, when it's %100 finished.
