Hello. I am excited to start using Blender Octane Edition. I am very new to this. I just bought a new PC with a 1080 GTX just for this purpose. I've installed the latest CUDA drivers and everything. I've successfully started Octane Standalone, but I cannot view any image in Blender when I switch it to OctaneRender and select the render mode. I purchased the software (not a demo version). I can't figure out the issue. I hardly have anything else on the computer since it is new. I've followed the instructions in the manual. Any help is appreciated.

Please, in general, refer to the Blender forum section for specific question about the plugin:

In the Releases section divided by operating system:
viewforum.php?f=113
you can find v2.25 - 9.13, that has no support for Pascal cards like GTX 1080, and v3.3.04 - 10.6 that is the latest v3 version with Pascal card support.
Have you installed v2 plugin? In this case you have to update to v3 in order to use your GTX 1080.

Hello. Thanks for your response. I've downloaded what I believe to be the most current version of blender octane (2.77a). I'm using standalone and server v 3.03.4. When I open blender and set to octane plugin, in the render server box i click the activation state button. It says "your license was deactivated or expired and there is not another one available." Still can't figure this out.

not a Blender user, sorry, but I guess that there is still the v2 server license active while you try to activate v3.
What do you see if you go to OctaneLive page license section?
You should see listed your license with the corresponding machine followed by the version number, eg [v2].

Hmm. It says v3. If there is a v2 activated out there, how can I deactivate it?

Have you tried again? All your licenses are unused at this point so you should be able to use them now.

Hi, I fired up Octane Server and having the same issue "your license was deactivated or expired there is not another one available. You may release or extend or a license and retry or sign in as a different user to continue." and can't find the V2 plugin to deactivate as suggested. Just the V3.

I think you are probably using a VR build which uses subscription licenses and for what I can see your licenses are not subcription licenses.

Whoops! I did get the VR version without knowing it. I got the right version and it's working now. Thank you.
