HI All,

I am a little bit confused about what is the best way/settings to produce Sub Surface Scattering in Octane 3. There quite a few tutorials on how to do that in version 2, however the setting are a little bit different in version three. PS I am using Cineme 4d. So if anybody have a screen grab or a written list explaining SSS, that would be amazing.

Thank you in advance.

Hi zakperic,
the material system is not changed between v2 and v3, there are only few small differences:
-First of all, the Step lenght value works only with Volumes node, it doesn't have any effect on classic sss materials.
-Now the Scale value is called Density, but is exactly the same.
-The absorption is inverted by default, uncheck the option to go back at the same behavior as v2
Look at this general guide about the medium node in Octane:
