Baking in blender

Hi everyone! Fast question.. I'm having some problems trying to bake materials in Blender's Octane plugin. I've added a camera and activated the "baking camera" option, and I've also created Uv's and materials for all objects. However when I press render, only a black image is processed. What am I doing wrong?

I'm a licensed costumer, but for some reason I can't post in the private forums, so I'm asking here.

Hi Diego,

You need to make sure your baking camera's baking group ID matches the one from the object layer the object are trying to bake is connected to.

Best,

Hi thanks... still not working though. I can't find where to change cameras baking group, I can only change the number of the uv set. Everything is at bake ID 1 and in layer one in Blender.

Here is a screen shot of my camera settings:

Baking group ID should be the one by default, however there should be an option to let you change it in the plugin properties which is not there.

Have you tried using standalone and do you get the same results? Maybe we could take a look at the exported ORBX if you are able to share it.

Thank you.

I can not export as ORBX either, although I follow the steps in the manual no ORBX file appears.

When triying to export, in the last frame, I get the following error in the console:

"Octane: ERROR downloading scene file from server. Description: No such file or directory
Octane: ERROR clearing render server.
Saved: 'C:\Users\Usuario\Desktop\Bakingtest\Baking test 10010.tif'
Time: 00:00.14 (Saving: 00:00.12)"

OK, I am forwarding this to JimStar who's in charge of the plugin development, sorry for that.

Thank you for your feedback.

I see some baking camera settings are not exposed in Blender UI, I'll check it when I'm back to office...
Regarding the ORBX export: could you please describe what you do exactly, step by step?..

Thanks!!! Aparently restarting the server (or the program) solved that, here is the ORBX:

There are no nodes active in the camera in the ORBX when I open it in standalone.
