How to replicate Moss on surface with Octane?

Hello all,
I'm still fairly new to Octane, and the main reason I purchased it was to perform daily work and produce stills and abstract stuff. Very much the hobbyist. I really enjoy looking at some of the work of individuals such as Hoodass and Beeple and puzzling out what they are doing.
For the most part I can do it, however in the attached is an example of one of Philip's works that looks like concrete covered in a mossy material. I can't figure out how this is done. He may be receptive to inquiries on how to do it (he answers a lot of questions on his Instagram) but I feel this is a bit rude - it is his style and all.
Any advice or logic on how this effect is created via Octane would be really appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: I should note that I'm using Cinema4D and Octane.
