Just got the email last night to download R18.
Download the software but have yet to install it. Has anyone tried Octane with it yet?
Once I get a break in the day, I'll give it a try but thought I'd see if anyone else has yet to brave into the upgrade.


UPDATE: It Works!
So I installed R18 and dropped the Octane plug-in in the the R18 plug-in folder. Loaded a scene and everything seem to render just fine....
There might be some other bugs hanging around since this was a very small test. But I was able to load a scene that I created in R17 and it seems quite identical in R18.
Have to stress test some of the other features, but at least I know I can render output just fine... But not deleting R17 anytime soon just to be safe.

Yes works since alpha. Please warn us if you catch any issues.

Can't delete Phong Tags when Live Viewer is on in R18, they resurrect whenever I click somewhere. No problem with C4D R17.

Make a new scene. Add a cube and assign a octane material. Try to delete phong. What's happening?

I'm not seeing octane when i install it in R18 is there a special installation method?

Nope, just put it in the plugin folder in your preferences and be sure you're using the R18 version of the plugin.

where do i find the R18 version? I just downloaded the latest version listed

open the plugin folder and delete all but the R18 inside it just as you've done with every previous release.

there is no R18 in the folder, please be more specific, provide a link?, i don't see an R18 version in the downloads list

I appreciate your patience and help, i'm having a hard time

unzip the file you downloaded, open the folder and take a look inside. delete all but R18. then put it in the plugin folder.
