Realy nice...
Yes, I can confirm that the 2.43 is less stable, gives me 4-5 freezes on 100 frames :|

very nice job!

looks like the cam of the real footages were static, looks just like a litle zoom in post.
so no need for tracking? or did you track the people to get some automatic movin obstacles for the particles?

how did you realize the "see through" in the front-loading washers door? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPa9p_ePYCA
is there some animated mesh/mask as helper?

thx dave

The shots where static, due to time constraint.. I only had one day per shot, and most of that time went to animate collision objects (that I used in Octane as 100% transparent meshes to get the "inner-shadow" from).. So no tracking, and the client wanted not the balls visible before the door etc was opened, so I just masked that out.. The walls etc. I jsut made 100% diffuse white, and used as a multiply for extra shadow effect above the live action...

This is another Octance project (the cloth is octane, the rest is Lightwave)... There is another animation, but I don't think its released yet..

Everything rendered with Octane.. And with alpha support etc, its a breeze :)

How long was the export time per frame for the balls?(average)

Seconds? Minutes?

Nice work.

Almost 5 minutes/frame in export time, when I started rendering the first scene. It was crazy.. But Face updated the instance thingy (hehe, thats how technical I get), and it dropped to 45 seconds I think... Render time was 12 seconds per frame in Octane... Maybe not a suitable project for Octane, but I had alot of time for rendering, and was eager to try out some workflow :)
