Apologies, this was started in the wrong place, in the Octane VR forum.

Hi Hope you can help,

It’s been a long old day, apologies if I’m making any silly errors.

I’m having issues getting the Rhino Octane plugin to work. I’m running Octane standalone 3.03.3 with rhino 3.01.1 installed. I made the error of installing this without removing the demo and have since done a system restore and reinstalled. Both are licenced and registered. I’m also running the latest rhino 5 (Version 5 SR13 64-bit)
The issue I have is I’m not seeing the materials tab, I can add an octane material but i thought the tab floated with the main UI?

Please can you point me in the right direction.

Cheers!

Hi Paul,

In response to your reply i did install the demo from the .EXE. i then had problems installing the full or latest version over it. I did a system restore and started again but using the .RHI install. ill do what you have suggested and see if that helps. in the meantime if you the above helps please advise.

Cheers

Will.

Ok,

have done exactly what you have said, deleted other install files from the ''C:\Program Files\Common Files\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Plug-ins'' installed OctaneRenderForRhino_3_3_3_70. Restarted rhino, all activation etc took place and loaded up. I still only have 4 tabs (settings, geometry, devices & activation)

Help greatly appreciated.

Hi - the plugin is installed correctly. The materials are accessed via the Rhino Materials panel. https://docs.otoy.com/manuals/products/ ... rials-tab/

That's great. The way the previous help files read is that this would be all tabbed together in the Octane Render tool window. At least i know its all peachy now. Thanks for this. I'm just getting this all up and running. Ive 2 GTX980 TI's arriving tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Will.
