No, you can not use rhino lights in octane, obj file don't support lights, but you can use any mesh like a light source, and in octane will be IES lights soon.

You have to pick any mesh in rhino and assign any material for example "light".
Export obj.
Open scene in octane, look for material "light", and assign for it diffuse material with blackbody or texture emission.
You can decrease intensity for environment and increase intensity for blackbody.

I thing, in demo version is not this options, you have to buy full version. 99 € is nice price.
And in full version are a lot of new features compare to demo.
I can compare between vray and octane, and octane is much more better then vray for me.
Speed and quality is incredible.

Unfortunately, the current demo is quite old and mesh lights are not included. Hopefully, a new demo with all of the new features will be forthcoming.

Anybody have the license and use Rhino here ?
Thanks

Good to know ! Octane is really not expensive... $99 its almost free to a software like this. But i don't want to buy another software to put side and never use. I'm almost buying just to see the hole thing ! hauahuahua
