Understanding Octane lights in Houdini

So I have a basic setup with some simple geometry.

As far as I can tell Octane is installed correctly.

With NO lights created when I open IPR I still get a distant light rendered. GI is also completely turned off.

Where does this light come from and how can I disable?

Are there any Octane tutorials that deal specifically with light rigs in Houdini?

Without any emissive geometry enabled in the scene, the light only can come from the environment (daylight or texture environment). Anyway if you configure the direct lighting kernel in "Diffuse" mode with 0 ray depth, all the objects should be rendered also without any kind of light.
