A very basic question

Hi there, I apologize in advance for how basic this question will seem, but having read the documentation I'm left with a belief I need to verify with people who actually have experience.

I use a MacBookPro for the vast bulk of my work. I have a giant beast of a PC workstation, but honestly, I hate the windows interface. I bought it largely to house and power three GPU's I bought for Octane. My expectation was that I'd model on the Mac and render on the PC. So far so good.

Thing is, that trade between stations is slowing me down on the Octane learning curve.

Am I correct in my understanding that in order for me to install Octane on my MBP (Which has an Nvidia video card) and then use my 3 GPUY's on the PC as slaves, I need to purchase a full license for BOTH machines? I know Octane has an attractive price point, but really?

Thanks for any input!

Tricky, but yes, I think that`s correct.

I use a googledrive on both machines to access files more quickly.

Sometimes you can switch licenses between machines (deactivate on mac, activate onwin) to go on.

Hi Stonefield,
if you refer to net rendering, you need a combo license Standalone + plugin on your master Mac Book Pro, while you need a Standalone license for every slave PC in your LAN with up to 20 GPU total between master and slaves.
