Hi There, I upgraded from V2 to V3 and now Octane isn't recognising my username and password. I deactivated V2 before installation

MacbookPro 15 Inch , Mid 2012, El capitan,Geforce GT 650M
Cuda 7.5.30
C4D R16.050 (latest)
Standalone & C4d plugin installed are the latest V3 build

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have a similar situation going on right now.
difference is: i did not update anything, i have been using the most recent v3 for the standalone and the plug the whole time.

unfortunately, c4d craashed while working and i had to force quit c4d via task-manager.
murphey's law or whatever wants it, that in that moment my internet connection was offline for a few minutes.
next time i tried to start c4d, octane gave me the pop-up that you see above (wrong username or password).

now i seem not to be able to log-in. no username/password combination works.

to be honest... it's a bit confusing... forum, livedb, account, standalone, plugin, everything's a bit splattered all over the place.
but i tried every possible combination of names and figures i possibly could find concerning octane.
of course i also tried those:

but still... "invalid user or password".

i tried it via starting the standalone and typing in in that pop-up. as well as i tried via launching c4d and typing in in the pop-up that appears there.

as you can see in the screenshot, it says "deactivated". after my problem occured, i read in the forums and i found as an alternatve emergency solution, if the software could not release the license due to internet connection break-down or so, that one can manually release via web-page. so tried that, now it says "deactivated". before that it said "unlock", i had to click it, so now it says "deactivated" hoping that now i would succeed, but still no luck.

i also read in the forums, that deleting the file "otoy_credentials" from the ...roaming/octanerender place could be a solution. i can't find a file named like that. i only do find "otoy_credentials.backup" though. i deleted that one but again and still: no luck.

now i am in the situation that i am not able to use the software, neither in standalone (which i've never used anyway really) nor in c4d.
i am approaching the end of a production process, in the middle of rendering out the final frames with higher sample rates and in need for this weekend as rendering time for the frames to be finished by monday morning.

and now this!

please, pretty please, with sugar on top: i need help to get this software running.
this situation is everything but funny.

You should give Otoy account not old license IDs. Which is same to log in to Otoy site.

those (the screenshot i posted) are the only ones that i can see when i click in my the licenses-tab.
but i fear those are not usable with v3?!

so... for v3 would that be the one that is here and there in the forum mentioned as "sso-account"? and if so, what is that sso-account?
is that the one that i can reach when i go to https://account.otoy.com/user?
when i go there i see my name e-mail and authorized applications... there are two, first is octane render, second is octane render customer area. for the first one there is the option to "revoke" which i of course don't want to do.
there is also the option "If you want to change your password, fill in your new password below." but under that it says "Please provide your current password to change your information. "

so, if that is the information that the v3 pop-up needs me to type-in, how can i find out what my password is? it's the first time today, that i am in need of typing it due to this c4d-crash while loss of internet-connection.
i can't find a link which would offer a password-reset or so on that account.otoycom/user profile-site.

what am i supposed to do now?

p.s.:
it could very well be that finally i managed to find a combination with a correct password, but as a result i now receive this message:

Required user/pass is what you enter to sign-in to Otoy account. There is a "forgot password" option to be clicked.

ah ok, since i am always signed-in it never occured to me, that i would be offered a password-reset by logging-out.
makes sense.

but... if i log-out, receive a new password and get the same message that i edited in my previous post (validation problem)... could it be that i also will loose ability to log-into this forum rendering me left on my own (if that's the case, that that new password is then also valid for the forum-login)?

No need to be worried.
Are you sure that you run 3.03.3 version? we don't run to this issue anymore. Try with also standalone.
