Hi !

So probably all of us have seen r18 promo materials, they look cool and all,
but I am wondering if new version of cinema will be able to "unlock" possibility
for more features of Octane for c4d?

This is probably a question for plugin developers, but if anyone of You knows
anything, then I'll be happy to know it also :)

Cheers,
Lukasz

Mmm we should be able to use everything that is not shader related of r18 like the voronoi thing and as far as shaders goes we already have a thin field and a way to randomize color and values.

One new thing was really interesting, being able to load a shit ton of textures and then modulate the way they apply to objects using sliders or shaders seems really interesting.

I am wondering if Substance Painter support in r18 could potentially make it easier to use with Octane

One of my main reasons for using Octane is getting that live feedback for lighting and being able to do quick iterations. From the looks of the new R18 viewport features that may alleviate my need for this. Hopefully Octane materials will work in the viewport as well.

You load/expect too much work from me. It's not possible or not easy task for custom materials.

I don't think so. AFAIK no external render engine can do that, certainly not Vray and Maxwell.

Was wondering the same thing! It would be amazing if the substance integration would work with Octane.

Does not it work?

I wonder if new shaders, invert ambient oclussion or thin film shader are going to be available for use with octane.
